Copperhead: (SOLD)
In the arid hill country of the Southern Appalachians, a tiny dirt track coils its way up Rich Mountain in the brazen light of a July noon. Hickory pines and stunted junipers dot the scraggly slopes, rising up like mendicants out of the brier and sedge. Through this winding land slips a well-known character. He is the color of a new penny, with nary a straight line to his body. If you see him, tip your hat to him. Pass by at arm’s length though. He’s like you—he needs a little space now and again.
– Panegyrics by Adam Whipple
This curvy pipe was carved to show some pretty straight grain along the sides and blasted to highlight the birds eye on the top and bottom. The shank was carved out of a pretty piece of black horn, and shows some pretty light marbling, almost like a ghost vapor.
The Military Mount stem was hand carved from German Ebonite, and was fitted with a comfort fit button, which makes it comfortable and easy to hold in your mouth. As with all my pipes, I’ve opened this pipe up properly to give it the the right air flow to provide a cool dry smoke.
